The housekeeping team plays an important role in maintaining resident dignity, infection control, safety, and overall quality of life. Position Summary Pomeroy Living Northville is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join its environmental services team. The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and maintaining resident apartments, common areas, restrooms, hallways, and other assigned areas within the community. This position is a good fit for candidates who take pride in cleanliness, enjoy helping create a welcoming environment, and can work independently while also supporting the larger team. Key Responsibilities Clean and maintain resident apartments, common areas, offices, restrooms, and other designated spaces. Dust, vacuum, mop, and sweep floors. Clean and sanitize bathrooms, sinks, toilets, showers, mirrors, and fixtures. Empty trash containers and replace liners. Wash windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces as assigned. Maintain clean and organized housekeeping carts and supply areas. Restock cleaning supplies and report low inventory to the appropriate supervisor. Follow all safety, sanitation, infection control, and company procedures. Use cleaning supplies, equipment, and chemicals safely and properly. Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or resident-related concerns to the appropriate staff. Communicate respectfully with residents, families, visitors, and team members. Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff. Complete additional housekeeping duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Previous experience in housekeeping, cleaning, environmental services, hospitality, senior living, healthcare, or a related field preferred. Familiarity with cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment preferred. Strong attention to detail required. Strong organizational skills required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift and carry light objects up to 50 pounds. Must be dependable, respectful, and professional. Must be able to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks. Must be able to follow safety and sanitation procedures. Must be able to complete required onboarding, background checks, and training. Preferred Qualifications Experience cleaning in a senior living, assisted living, healthcare, hotel, hospitality, residential, or commercial setting. Knowledge of infection control and sanitation practices. Ability to manage time effectively and complete cleaning assignments on schedule. Ability to work around residents in a patient, respectful, and professional manner. Comfort using standard cleaning tools and equipment. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
