Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Properly set, clean and maintain all function rooms, service corridors, storerooms and public function areas in a safe, accident-free manner. Provide excellent customer service and work closely with guests, Sales, and the Food and Beverage departments.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
Check the server's and house person's BEOs to ensure that all information is accurate. Set rooms, buffets, and tables according to BEO specifications and Supervisor instructions. Check electrical hook-ups for proper working order and tape down all exposed cords for equipment in use. Perform all guest contact activities or guest requests with a cordial, efficient and professional manner while maintaining a commitment to excellence. Ensure that all storerooms are clean, organized and secured. Assist in equipment inventory as scheduled. Attend staff set- up and technical training on a regular basis. Organize Banquet rooms to ensure a productive, safe and energy conserving work environment. Ensure proper maintenance (cleaning and repair) of all equipment. Ensure that all unused rooms are set to department's standards. Constantly communicate all concerns to department Manager. Assist the servers during service by responding to their requests; notify supervisor immediately of any difficulties. Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow associates in all departments. Enforce all safety and sanitation procedures including safety guidelines and OSHA requirements. Assist with housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, pressure washing common areas. Bar-backing or running food as needed to help service all F&B departments. Must be able to work independently once given direction. Must be available mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends and holidays based on business demands.DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school education or equivalent experience.Experience:
Six months hotel or convention center -banquet food/beverage services environment. Experience and knowledge in all facets of banquet operations, convention services setup and a good understanding of AV equipment operations preferred.Skills and Abilities:
Able to read, speak and understand English. Able to lift, push, carry 20 - 50 lbs. Stand continuously for long periods of time. Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.Similar jobs in Midland, MI
