Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for our residents, guests, and staff. The ideal candidate will perform general cleaning, sanitization, and laundry tasks in accordance with infection control guidelines and company standards.
Essential Job Functions Sanitization:
Clean, disinfect, and sanitize assigned spaces, including common areas, dining rooms, hallways, and public restrooms.
Floor Maintenance:
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors using standard cleaning tools and equipment.
Trash & Waste:
Collect and safely dispose of general waste in accordance with facility and OSHA procedures. May include biohazard waste.
Supplies:
Restock paper products, soaps, and other essential cleaning supplies as needed.
Reporting:
Identify and report any maintenance needs, structural damage, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
Equipment Use:
Equipment Use:
Safely operate cleaning tools and equipment such as vacuums and cleaning carts, small kitchen appliances (i.e. coffee makers, dishwashers, microwaves, etc.)
Customer Engagement:
On an as-needed basis, supports customer experience by assisting with refreshments and helping customers navigate the store environment.
Physical and Mental Requirements Standing and Walking:
Must be able to stand and walk continuously for up to 8 hours per shift, freely navigating throughout the facility.
Lifting and Carrying:
Ability to frequently lift, carry, and manage supplies and trash weighing between 10 to 25 lbs. Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
Physical Maneuvering:
Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach above the head, and twist while cleaning and sanitizing.
Pushing and Pulling:
Ability to push/pull loaded housekeeping carts weighing up to 100 lbs across carpets and hard floors.
Sensory Demands:
Vision abilities require close and distance vision for inspecting cleanliness. Ability to accurately communicate verbally and in writing with staff, supervisors, and residents. Work Environment Work indoors in a climate-controlled environment, with frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals, varying temperatures, and possible strong odors. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as gloves and masks are available for use. PPE must be worn as mandated by facility infection control policies.
Required Qualifications Experience:
1 year of housekeeping or commercial janitorial experience is preferred, though on-the-job training is provided. Experience interfacing with customers in a luxury, retail environment, is preferred.
Communication:
Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and/or in writing, as required to perform essential job functions.
