We act with honesty and strong ethical principles Your Role as Lead Housekeeper The Lead Housekeeper serves as a working leader within the Environmental Services Department. This position performs housekeeping duties while providing day-to-day support, guidance, and problem-solving assistance to the housekeeping team. Unlike a traditional supervisory role, the Lead Housekeeper remains actively involved in daily housekeeping responsibilities and may float between areas of the campus to assist with staffing needs, PTO coverage, call-ins, room turnovers, admissions, discharges, and increased workload demands. This role serves as an important liaison between housekeeping staff and department leadership while helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, families, visitors, and staff. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Support Serve as a day-to-day resource for housekeeping staff Assist with onboarding and training new employees Promote teamwork, accountability, and positive workplace culture Help address routine staff concerns and operational issues Communicate concerns and trends to department leadership Operational Support Float between work areas as needed to support staffing and workload demands Assist with room turnovers, admissions, discharges, and special cleaning projects Monitor workflow and identify opportunities for improved efficiency Help ensure supplies and equipment are available and maintained Housekeeping & Environmental Services Perform daily housekeeping duties throughout the campus Clean resident rooms, common areas, bathrooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas Follow infection prevention, OSHA, and safety standards Complete floor care, dusting, disinfecting, vacuuming, trash removal, and related duties Report maintenance, safety, and infection control concerns promptly Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents and staff Quality & Compliance Assist with routine inspections and quality assurance efforts Support compliance with state and federal regulations Help ensure department standards are consistently maintained What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous housekeeping experience required Healthcare, senior care, or long-term care housekeeping experience strongly preferred Previous leadership, trainer, or lead-worker experience preferred Knowledge of infection control and safe cleaning practices Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to problem-solve and exercise sound judgment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Positive attitude and willingness to support coworkers Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds Ability to safely operate housekeeping equipment and cleaning tools Ability to work in resident care environments and around cleaning chemicals Ready to Lead by Example?
