Job Description

Job Objective(s) To keep assigned inside and outside common areas and available units of the property clean, orderly and pleasant. Provide an environmentally safe and clean setting for the residents and guests of the property. Essential Responsibilities Maintain a high level of customer service Inside duties: Tour entire property (daily) to assess cleaning needs Clean common areas (i.e., party room, fitness center, laundry room, hallways, elevator areas), offices and other assigned areas Clean vacated apartments/townhomes in preparation for new resident move-in Vacuum, spot clean and shampoo common area rugs and carpets; sweep, scrub, mop and wax and polish floors Clean and restock restrooms Dust, clean and polish furniture and woodwork; polish metal work Empty waste receptacles and clean trash room Wash windows, walls and doors Replace light bulbs Clean and adjust shades and blinds Turn lights on and off Unlock and lock doors and gates Outside duties: Assist with grounds work, e.g., sweep sidewalks, water plants, remove snow, distribute salt/ice melt, etc. Pick up paper and debris from main entrances and around property Pick up trash containers and empty into large bins Clean garage area Unlock and lock doors and gates
Other Responsibilities:
Take routine care of custodial equipment and materials Move and arrange furniture and equipment Assist with repairs Distribute/deliver resident mail and packages as necessary Deliver communications from property management office to residents as necessary Assist property management/leasing office as requested, e.g., answer phones Attend staff meetings as required Maintain and safeguard confidential information Remain flexible, receptive and adaptive to change Understand and apply basic principles of good housekeeping and safety Perform other related duties as requested by supervisor Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, and speak and understand English
