HOUSEKEEPER JOB DESCRIPTION A
housekeeper's main responsibility is to provide clean, and comfortable guest rooms in line with the Veridea Group Standards, while ensuring guest satisfaction by providing friendly and courteous service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.
Assists all guests in a sincere and courteous manner, whenever possible going above and beyond and doing whatever it takes to ensure guest satisfaction. 2. Thoroughly and correctly cleans and sets up guest rooms according to Franchise and Veridea Group operational policies and standards to ensure guest satisfaction. a. Removes soiled bed and bath linens and replaces with clean linens. b. Removes trash and debris from guest room. c. Cleans all surfaces in bathroom area. d. Dusts all surfaces. e. Replenishes promotional materials/literature. f. Ensures alarm clock, telephone, and TV/remote are in working order and programmed properly. g. Replenishes room amenities. h. Vacuums room. i. Follows proper franchise procedures in stay-over rooms. j. Completes checkouts in 45 minutes or less at extended stay properties. k. Completes stayovers in 25 minutes or less at extended stay properties. l. Reports on unusual circumstances to Supervisor. m. Each housekeeper is responsible for disposing their trash to outdoor receptacle. n. Props guest room doors open only when physically present in guest room. o. Keeps housekeeping cart flush to guest room wall while cleaning. This ensures guests have plenty of corridor space to walk as well as keeps housekeeper safe. p. Reports maintenance requests promptly and utilizes maintenance ticket system. q. Turns in articles left in rooms and registers them accordingly in Lost & Found Logbook. 3. Maintains clean and orderly cart and vacuum cleaner to maximize job efficiency. 4. Treats vacuum cleaners with respect, avoiding vacuuming over cords and damaging guest room furniture. 5. Reports all "

" or bolted door rooms to supervisor to ensure guest safety and maximize guest satisfaction. 6. Checks cart stock to determine adequacy for day's work. 7. Re-stocks housekeeping cart as needed in the allotted 15 minutes or less daily. 8. Pulls damaged and/or stained linen and returns it to the laundry reclaim area. Alerts Laundry Attendant of any issues. 9. Locks linen closets after each use, to always ensure maximum safety and security. 10. Acquires working knowledge of the property and all facilities to respond to guest questions effectively. 11. Understands and applies all hotel safety and security procedures as required to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests. 12. Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken; also, provides potential solutions to the problems noticed. 13. Ensures that guest issues are dealt with appropriately. If outside his/her bounds of authority, promptly brings the matter to the attention of hotel management. 14. Proactively looks for opportunities to improve operations. 15. Adheres to all company policy and procedures, safety procedures, Health Department, and other regulatory requirements. 16. Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS 1.
Accepts directions and priorities from supervisor and reliably follows-through on tasks. 2. Performs job duties with a minimum of disruption to the guest. 3. Ability to be friendly and cheerful; interacts easily with strangers. 4. Cooperates with and supports others. 5. Works independently with little supervision. 6. Ability to safely work with cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals including: vacuum cleaners, brooms, mops, etc. 7. Ability to clean rooms in the allotted time given by supervisor. 8. Ability to clean 10-15 guest rooms daily depending on hotel status. 9. Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing and walking for most of the shift, bending, climbing 10. Good hand dexterity required to dust, polish, make beds, fold towels, etc. 11. Grooming and uniform standards must meet Employee Handbook Standards.
REPORTS TO
Housekeepers report directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Operations Manager on duty.
