POSITION SUMMARY
Performs any combination of the following tasks to maintain guestrooms, working areas, and the hotel premises in general in a clean and orderly manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and carpet shampoo machine. Cleans rooms, hallways and restrooms. Washes walls and ceiling, moves furniture's and turn mattress. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floor. Dusts and polishes metalwork. Collects soiled linen for laundering. Maintains housekeeping carts. Removes trash collected by room attendants. Walk all assigned floors at beginning and end of shift to collect newspapers, trash, soiled linen. Pickup clean linen and refill the par stock of linen on each floor pantry. Refill the par stock of guest amenities and supplies on each floor pantry. Help the room attendants with the heavy lifting when super cleaning / spring cleaning of rooms. Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures. Assist room attendants with placing bed boards, roll-ways beds, extra bed etc. Report missing / found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors. Respond at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other associates. Take up any tasks assigned by supervisors as and when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous housekeeping, hospitality, janitorial, or customer service experience preferred but not required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and equipment preferred. Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
PHYSICAL ABILITY
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs frequently. Ability to move carts, furniture, linens, and supplies throughout the property. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions when required.
