Relaxed atmosphere On-the-job training Safe work environment Laundry Attendant/House person Responsibilities include but not limited to: Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and fellow employees Understand operation of washing machines and dryers. Load and unload washes according to standards. Wash and dry all dirty linens, towels, rags, etc. Sort all hotel linen according to type, color, size, etc. Pre-treat all stained linen before washing. Clean dryer filter daily and maintain all equipment as trained. Operate iron as per standard and ensure that it is shut off at the end of day. Sweep and mop laundry floors, storing all linens off the floor. Fold towels and linens. Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry carts. Keep laundry carts clean and free of debris. Maintain clean work area. Sort clean laundry according to type and load carts. Ensure overall guest satisfaction.. Reports equipment malfunctions promptly to the supervisor. Keeps supplies and storage area orderly at all times. Cleans all equipment and work area daily. Maintains par stock of laundry and cleaning supplies. Assists with monthly inventories. Complies with hotel's policies and procedures. Provides assistance to other associates to contribute to the smooth operation of the department and the hotel. From time to time, you will need to assist in other additional duties requested by management or corporate office. Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas. Abides by the regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when using chemicals. Moves/arranges furniture and dusts/polishes furniture, metalwork and equipment. Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors, using brooms and mops and powered scrubbing and waxing machines. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaner. Collects soiled linens for laundering and receives and stores linen supplies in linen closet. Cleans bathrooms and replenishes with supplies. Refurnishes room with supplies, towels etc. as required. Supplies cleaning cart with appropriate supplies for shift. Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork; washes windows, door panels, and sills. Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays. Transports trash and waste to disposal area. Setting up and breaking down of meeting rooms when required and making sure that the meeting rooms is always "show ready" Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner. Attends periodic staff meetings with other department heads to discuss company policies and patrons' complaints, and to make recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation. Other duties as assigned. Requirements:
Flexible and long hours sometimes required. Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Ability to stand during entire shift. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with CN Hotels, Inc. Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag. Comply with CN Hotels, Inc.
