School Housekeeper

Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment. Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, buffing, and specialized floor care techniques to ensure safety and appearance. Conduct janitorial duties such as trash removal, dusting surfaces, disinfecting high-touch areas, and replenishing supplies. Carry out custodial tasks including window washing, wall cleaning, and light maintenance like replacing light bulbs or minor repairs. Support facilities maintenance by reporting any damages or safety hazards promptly to ensure a secure environment. Utilize industrial cleaning tools and methods for deep cleaning tasks as needed to uphold health standards. Assist with residential painting or minor renovation projects when required to keep the school facilities in top condition. Experience Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with floor care techniques such as buffing, stripping, sealing, and waxing floors. Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and supplies is preferred. Background in facilities maintenance or general upkeep roles will be advantageous. Prior porter experience or similar roles that involve maintaining cleanliness in busy environments is a plus. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions if needed. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent organizational skills to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards consistently.
