ABOUT THE ROLE
A warm and welcoming Teaneck family is seeking a dedicated full-time Nanny/Housekeeper to join their household on a long-term basis. The primary focus of this role is the care of a newborn baby, with household assistance during nap times. As the baby grows and naptime decreases, you will not be expected to be able to accomplish as much around the home and outside cleaning help will increase. In the newborn phase, the baby is sleeping much of the day. The three older children (ages 8, 11, and 13) are in school full day and are independent, so this role is centered on infant care above all else.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide attentive, nurturing care for a newborn including all feeding and diaper changes Encourage and support healthy sleep routines during nap times Assist with household tasks and general tidying during baby's sleep windows (no deep cleaning required) Maintain a safe, calm, and organized environment throughout the home Communicate openly and reliably with the parents about the baby's daily routine and needs Be present in the home for the older children after school as a resource and in case of emergency (children are older and do not require direct care or supervision)
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 3 years of total professional childcare experience (paid, full-time) Minimum 1 year of hands-on infant care experience Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Must be willing and able to be paid W-2 through a payroll service (please do not apply if you cannot accept W-2 employment) Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to a long-term position Warm, nurturing disposition with a genuine love of working with young children Conversational English
  • does not need to be perfectly fluent spoken English, for the right candidate
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience supporting newborn sleep scheduling and feeding routines Infant CPR certified Previous experience in a household with multiple children of varying ages Strong organizational skills and ability to manage light household tasks independently Licensed confident driver
WHAT WE OFFER
Competitive pay: $26
  • 32/hour depending on experience, skills, and references 2 weeks paid vacation plus paid holidays Paid W-2 employment through a payroll service Stable, long-term position with a lovely and supportive family Monday through Friday schedule — no weekends
SCHEDULE
: Monday through Friday, approximately 40-45 hours per week.
Current hours:
10:00 AM
  • 6:00 PM or 9:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM, with some flexibility. Hours may expand to 8:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM after the summer.
