Job Description

River Hospital is seeking a Housekeeper to join our EVS team working per diem. Job Purpose Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment. Performs environmental duties in accordance with established standards and regulations. Provides and or distributes clean linen supplies. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Basic language and communication skills necessary. Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and adjust easily to new ideas and changes. Preferred experience in housekeeping, janitorial experience, or healthcare environmental services but willing to train the right candidate.
Work Environment and Hazards:
OSHA Category III - Hazards include risk of exposure to communicable diseases, chemicals and hazardous waste, and exposure to computer equipment. Hazards include injuries due to heavy lifting.
Special Physical Demands:
Standing for long periods of time, walking, lifting, sitting, bending. It is the employee's responsibility to know the requirements for certification, limited permit and licensure for their individual profession. It is also the responsibility of the employee to notify the employer of the status of any certification or licensure issue or potential issue. The employee will comply with all of the requirements outlined by the New York State Office of professions for the particular profession.
