Duties may include making beds, replenishing linens, cleaning rooms and halls, and vacuuming. Essential Responsibilities Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met. Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas. Replenish supplies, such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items. Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy. Dust and polish furniture and equipment. Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners and shampooers. Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing, as necessary. Hang draperies and dust window blinds. Observe precautions required to protect hotel and guest property and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors. Remove debris from driveways, garages, and swimming pool areas. Sort, count, and mark clean linens and store them in linen closets. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length. Must be able to lift to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different floors of the hotel in a timely basis. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees. Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
