Job Description
A large private estate is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Housekeeper to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation throughout the property. This role requires a proactive professional who is comfortable working in a multi-structure estate environment, handling both daily upkeep and deep-cleaning projects, and supporting the principals as needed. The ideal candidate has prior experience in luxury residences, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to follow structured cleaning schedules while adapting to household needs. Essential Functions General Housekeeping & Estate Care Maintain immaculate cleanliness throughout the main residence and all ancillary buildings Dust and clean chandeliers, lamps, picture frames, books, window ledges, surfaces, and decorative items Vacuum and mop all floors; vacuum and fluff upholstered furniture and pillows Dust and oil wooden doors, cabinetry, shades, staircases, and architectural details Freshen beds daily and change linens as needed Deep clean guest rooms following weekend use Clean and maintain bathrooms to luxury standards Take out garbage and maintain cleanliness of service areas as needed Specialized Areas Clean and maintain theater spaces, including windows, floors, seating, and popcorn machine Clean and maintain gym areas, including vacuuming, wiping down equipment, and refilling water stations Clean cabana areas, including bathrooms, wooden cabinetry, refrigerators, and surrounding spaces Clean greenhouse powder room, basement floors, and radial link areas Clean laundry room as needed Kitchen & Dining Support Empty and clean all dishwashers in the main kitchen Clean kitchen hood, refrigerators, countertops, ovens, floors, fireplace, and surround Wash, dry, and iron kitchen linens and service towels as needed Iron table linens and properly store them in designated locations Refill refrigerators in the kitchen and cabana as needed Weekend & Rotational Duties Perform scheduled deep cleans on second-floor bedrooms and bathrooms Maintain theater and entertainment areas after use Clean antique decorative items with care (e.g., antique tin toys) Assist with dog care, including walking when required Household Support Provide coverage and care for the Master when primary staff is off Work collaboratively with other household staff to ensure seamless estate operations Qualifications & Skills Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a private estate, luxury residence, or high-end hospitality environment Extensive knowledge of fine surfaces, antiques, and specialty materials Strong organizational skills and ability to follow detailed cleaning schedules Discreet, trustworthy, and professional demeanor Physically capable of performing cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods Flexible schedule with availability for weekends and occasional schedule changes Experience working alongside estate managers and household teams Familiarity with caring for luxury finishes, fine furnishings, and antiques Ability to anticipate household needs and take initiative
