Linen Room Attendant

JOBSUMMARY

: Performs a variety of duties relating to processing linen, including but not limited to all linen and clothing used at the Community. Operates equipment used in the processing of linen including but not limited to washers, dryers, sheet folder/ironer/stacker, small piece folder, and mending machines. Collects, distributes, sets up linen carts and processes linen. Performs housekeeping functions

ESSENTIAL JOBFUNCTIONS

: Collects and distributes linen Sorts, weighs and washes soiled articles Separates soiled, stained and torn items Records linen weights Uses automated dispensing systems Operates washers and selects appropriate wash formulas Operates dryers and selects appropriate time and temperature settings Operates equipment to fold/iron/stack linen May mend linen and operate identification equipment Manually folds linen Loads linen carts with finished linen using established par levels Keeps work area in neat, clean and orderly condition Cleans linen carts Performs routine housekeeping functions Assists in linen usage studies and linen inventories Communicates problems and concerns to supervisor Performs other related duties as assigned

JOBQUALIFICATIONS

: Must be able to speak, read, write and understand using the predominant language of the residents being served Must be able to lift, push and pull Six month's or more laundry experience preferred Computer skills preferred High School or GED preferred
