Responsibilities also involve emptying trash, restocking supplies, reporting maintenance issues, and adhering to safety and hygiene protocols.
Core duties Perform cleaning tasks:
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors; dust furniture, surfaces, and fixtures; and clean windows in common areas.
Maintain public spaces:
Ensure the lobbies, corridors, lounges, restrooms, restaurants, and conference rooms are spotless and presentable.
Manage trash:
Empty all public trash receptacles and replace liners as needed, disposing of trash and recyclables properly.
Address maintenance issues:
Report any broken items, maintenance needs, or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
Handle supplies:
Restock amenities like paper towels and soap, and ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are clean and well-maintained.
Additional responsibilities Assist guests:
Respond to guest requests for extra supplies or service as needed.
Follow procedures:
Adhere to all hotel safety and hygiene protocols, as well as departmental policies.
Clean back-of-house areas:
Sometimes includes cleaning staff areas like offices, locker rooms, and the housekeeping department itself.
Manage linens:
May include tasks related to handling, washing, drying, and folding linens. Required skills Attention to detail, Physical stamina and ability to work independently, Strong time management skills, Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures, and Good communication and teamwork skills.
