Job Description

As a Housekeeping Porter, you will be a vital support for the housekeeping team. Your primary duties will include preparing rooms for cleaning by stripping linens and restocking items, as well as delivering amenities such as rollaway beds, irons, and cribs directly to guest rooms. You will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of public areas, including hallways, walls, and vending machine areas. This role is physically demanding, requiring you to stand, walk, and push heavy carts for extended periods. You must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs. and be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required. This is an entry-level position, and little to no previous work experience is necessary. The ability to maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with guests. A strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, their proper usage, and safe storage is a plus. An understanding of biohazards and the use of required personal protective equipment is preferred. The ability to work well with other departments. Prepare hotel rooms for cleaning by removing soiled linens and replenishing bedroom and bathroom items. Fulfill guest requests by delivering amenities such as rollaway beds, ironing boards, and baby cribs. Stock linens for room attendants and ensure their carts are fully supplied throughout the day. Maintain the cleanliness of all hallways, public areas, and linen closets by dusting, spot-cleaning walls, and emptying trash. Deliver laundry to and from the warehouse. Report any hotel damages or problems to your supervisor. Ensure all equipment used is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the day.
