Job Description

Deep in the rolling farmlands of the lower Hudson Valley, in Chester, New York, sits a magnificent 200-acre estate crowned with a spectacular hilltop mansion known as Glenmere. The Gilded Age retreat of the Goelet family, Glenmere was one of America's finest country homes, once host to royalty, aristocracy, and leading artists opened in January of 2010 as a premier luxury hotel. Glenmere Mansion has 18 guest accommodations, 2 superb restaurants- The Supper Room and the Frogs End Tavern, The Spa at Glenmere, and exceptional recreational facilities. Were looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Housekeeper to join our team in Chester, United States. In this role, youll play a vital part in creating clean, welcoming, and well-maintained spaces that exceed our guests expectations. As a Housekeeper, youll take pride in your work, maintain high service standards, and contribute to an exceptional guest experience through meticulous attention to cleanliness and presentation. Prepare and maintain guest rooms and common areas according to established service standards, including room make-ups, turndowns, and full room turnovers Remove trash and laundry; sanitize and clean bathrooms, fixtures, mirrors, and eating areas with precision and care Dust, vacuum, and refresh all guest accommodations and shared spaces to maintain a pristine environment Make beds with fresh linens, replenish guest amenities (toiletries, etc.) Conduct daily inventory checks and load supplies efficiently at the start of each shift Support laundry operations by gathering, transporting, loading, folding, storing, and delivering linens and laundry items Inventory and restock housekeeping closets with linens and amenities to ensure adequate supplies Maintain cleanliness and organization of department spaces, including laundry facilities, bathrooms, break rooms, and office areas Observe and report maintenance issues, missing inventory, or damage promptly to supervisors Respond quickly and efficiently to changing guest needs and priorities while maintaining service excellence Assist with additional tasks and special projects as assigned by management Strong attention to detail and unwavering commitment to high service standards Positive, "can-do" attitude with genuine pride in maintaining exceptional guest environments Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while demonstrating strong follow-through Team-oriented mindset with comfort collaborating across departments Clear and professional communication skills Comfort working with cleaning supplies and chemicals in a safe and responsible manner Safety-minded approach with attentiveness to safe work practices and procedures Professional presentation and guest-ready demeanor, including ability to interact courteously with guests Good judgment, discretion, and trustworthiness, particularly regarding guest privacy Strong time management and organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks Physical stamina and capability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate business needs, including peak periods and holidays Reliable attendance and consistent punctuality Ability to work calmly and effectively in a high-expectation environment Problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing priorities
