Housekeeping Room Attendant

A hotel housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and comfort of guest rooms and public areas to ensure a positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities Hotel housekeepers perform a variety of tasks to maintain a clean and welcoming environment for guests.

Their duties typically include:

Cleaning guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting bathrooms and surfaces Replenishing room supplies such as toiletries, towels and drinking glasses Maintaining cleanliness in common areas like lobbies, hallways, and staircases Reporting maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged furniture to the appropriate department Handling lost and found items according to hotel procedures Assisting in laundry duties, including washing, drying Responding promptly and courteously to guest requests for extra supplies or services Qualifications and Skills To perform effectively, hotel housekeepers typically need: Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning is preferred but not always required Knowledge of cleaning supplies, techniques, and safety procedures Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift up to 25 pounds, and remain active for extended periods Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team Good communication and customer service skills to interact with guests and staff
