Non-Exempt About PDQ PDQ Manufacturing is a Lancaster, Pennsylvania-based manufacturer of commercial door hardware, serving a wide range of architectural and institutional markets. Our product offerings include architectural commercial-grade mortise locks, cylindrical locks, deadbolts, hinges, door closers, exit devices, flat goods, and electronic locking solutions. Position Summary This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of both public and non-public areas within a manufacturing facility. Duties include dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning restrooms, while supporting a safe and organized work environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, reliability, and a professional, courteous demeanor. Essential Functions Clean, restock, and replenish supplies in restrooms, breakrooms, offices, locker rooms, and production areas. Sweep, scrub, and mop hard-surface flooring (concrete, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and tile). Vacuum carpeted areas to maintain cleanliness standards. Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including automatic floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums. Clean and maintain warehouse and production floors following safety and operational procedures. Empty waste and recycling receptacles; dispose of materials in accordance with company and environmental guidelines. Clean windows, mirrors, glass surfaces, and partitions. Dust and wipe down furniture, fixtures, equipment surfaces, and high-touch areas. Sanitize restroom fixtures, sinks, and common-use areas to meet hygiene standards. Perform periodic deep-cleaning tasks such as stripping/waxing floors or cleaning vents and baseboards. Support special cleaning projects, inspections, and audits as needed. Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply needs to supervision promptly. Follow all company policies, including safety, PPE, and chemical handling procedures (SDS compliance). Maintain cleaning logs and checklists as required. Qualifications Previous commercial, industrial, or janitorial cleaning experience preferred Ability to safely use cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies Basic understanding of safety practices, including proper chemical handling (preferred) Ability to operate washer and dryer for cleaning linens, uniforms, or mop heads Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
Work Environment Schedule:
