SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform cleaning procedures in accordance with facility policy. Observe waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy. Follow directions. Assist in the proper care and use of housekeeping equipment. Identify and report any equipment malfunction to supervisor. Report any observed area in poor repair to supervisor. Dispense soap, paper and other housekeeping supplies. Attend in-service training programs for Housekeeping employees. Observe infection control procedures related to the Housekeeping Department. Follow Resident's Rights policies at all times. Follow facility safety program. Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality. Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner. Possess high moral and ethical standards. Must understand the need to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in a nursing/retirement/adult day care center. Must be able to work cooperatively with fellow employees and with residents. Limited elderly resident interactions occur. Assume accountability for data contained in the employee's handbook. Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor. Ability to work under inside environmental conditions and possible exposures to bloodborne pathogens, chemical hazards, and respiratory hazards. Assist with weather emergencies and other emergencies as directed by the Housekeeping Coordinator. Assist with fire or other internal or external disasters as directed by the supervisor. Assist in the set up and clean up of dining rooms for resident meals. Adheres to the Values and Expectations statement and element of the compliance program.
