SMI-Owen Steel Company had owned the business since 1994 when they acquired it from South Carolina Steel Company. The Upstate South Carolina facility has been in operation at this location since 1952. Job Overview Track supplies of equipment in the tool crib by maintaining inventory of supplies and assuring all tools used are issued out in a controlled method.
Roles/Responsibilities:
Inventory:
Keeping an accurate inventory of tools, heavy equipment, safety equipment - ensuring there is enough backstock of necessary supplies and consumables
Storage:
Storing tools and equipment properly
Inspection:
Inspecting tools and equipment for wear, damage, and defects
Issuance:
Issuing tools, supplies, technology/iPads to employees and tracking returned/non-returned items
Repair Work Reporting:
Reporting tools that are unsafe, lost, damaged, or worn for preventative maintenance records
Ordering:
Ordering replacement tools, equipment, supplies for shop, dunnage, safety equipment, and paint
Education/Training High School Diploma or GED Experience :
