Job Description
Northbrooke Post-Acute , a 120-bed Skilled Nursing Facility, is located in Jackson, Tennessee servicing patients with wound care, rehabilitation and skilled services. Our focus is to provide the utmost quality of care to all of our patients while maintaining a compliant and welcoming environment. Position Overview:
The EVS Staff (housekeeping and laudry) supports the day-to-day operations of both the laundry and housekeeping departments in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility. This role ensures that an adequate supply of clean laundry and linen is consistently available to meet resident needs, while also maintaining the facility in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition for residents, staff, and visitors. Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned. Clean/polish furnishing, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., daily as instructed. Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc. (NOTE:
Ensure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.) Perform isolation cleaning procedures in accordance with established infection control procedures. Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical. Assist in developing procedures for performing daily laundry tasks. Assist the Director in standardizing the methods in which work is accomplished. Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor no matter how minor they may be (NOTE:
Such occurrences must be reported on the shift in which they occur.) Coordinate daily laundry services with other departments in the facility. Follow established fire safety policies and procedures. Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies. Wear and/or use safety equipment and supplies (e.g., back brace, mechanical lifts, etc.) when lifting or moving heavy objects. Wear non-slip shoes as required. Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used for cleaning. Refer to manufacturer's instructions when necessary. Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to your supervisor. Ensure that established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing laundry procedures. Ensure that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift. Ensure that an adequate supply of clean linen is maintained in linen closets. Monitor laundry procedures to ensure that supplies are used in an efficient manner to avoid waste. Ensure that appropriate personal protective equipment used in the handling of infectious materials is available and easily accessible.Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent. Prior housekeeping or laundry experience preferred in a skilled nursing facility or equivalent setting. Basic understanding of infection control and sanitation practices. Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and laundry equipment.
