Housekeeper Sacred Ground Hospice House Knoxville, TN Job Details Part-time $15 - $16 an hour 15 hours ago Qualifications Hospitality Teamwork High school diploma or GED Attention to detail Manual handling Full Job Description Position Summary The Housekeeper plays an essential role in creating a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for hospice residents, families, volunteers, and staff. As part of our ministry-driven residential hospice home, the Housekeeper supports our mission of providing compassionate end-of-life care by maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the house with dignity, respect, and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Housekeeping & Environmental Services Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, offices, kitchen areas, and other facility spaces. Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and maintain floors and surfaces throughout the facility. Empty trash and replace liners according to infection-control guidelines. Clean windows, mirrors, fixtures, and furniture as needed. Restock housekeeping and hygiene supplies in designated areas. Ensure resident rooms are prepared and refreshed in a timely and respectful manner. Safety & Compliance Follow infection prevention and control procedures. Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to manufacturer instructions. Report maintenance needs, safety concerns, or supply shortages promptly. Adhere to all hospice policies, confidentiality requirements, and applicable health and safety regulations. Ministry & Hospitality Support Contribute to a peaceful, home-like atmosphere that honors residents and their families. Interact with residents, families, volunteers, and staff with compassion, kindness, and professionalism. Support the ministry's values and mission through respectful service and teamwork. Assist with special cleaning needs before or after family gatherings, memorial events, or volunteer activities as requested. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous housekeeping, hospitality, healthcare, or residential cleaning experience preferred. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness. Ability to interact compassionately with individuals experiencing serious illness, grief, and loss. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds regularly. Ability to push, pull, and move housekeeping carts and supplies. Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the workday. Work Environment This position works in a residential hospice setting where residents are receiving end-of-life care. The environment is home-like, and mission-driven.
