Part Time Nashville, Tennessee 37205 House Assistant Nashville, Tennessee Schedule 16 hours per week Preferred schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday for 4 hours per day. The family is flexible and open to the following schedule options based on the candidate's availability and preference: 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM Compensation $35-40 per hour Mileage will be reimbursed for work related errands, including dry cleaning, grocery shopping, package shipments, and similar household tasks. Start Date June 2026 Position Overview A private family in Nashville is seeking a reliable, thoughtful, and proactive House Assistant to support the daily flow and upkeep of their home. The family currently has weekly professional cleaners on Thursdays, so the daily housekeeping responsibilities are intended to supplement that work and maintain the home between cleanings. The ideal candidate will be trustworthy, hardworking, reliable, and motivated. They should be detail oriented, organized, dependable, and comfortable taking initiative without needing constant direction. The family's current household assistant has been an integral part of their home for nearly three years and is relocating out of state. Candidates will have the opportunity to speak with her to better understand the family, the daily routine, and what it is like to work in the home. Key Responsibilities Housekeeping and Organization Maintain the overall cleanliness, organization, and daily upkeep of the home. Responsibilities include tidying living spaces, making beds, vacuuming, taking out garbage, wiping surfaces, and ensuring rooms feel neat, welcoming, and well cared for. Assist with closets, storage areas, household systems, and general organization so the home remains easy to maintain. Help ensure household essentials are stocked, unpack boxes, and put items away as needed. Laundry Care Manage household laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothing and linens. Proper care for different fabrics and attention to detail are important. Kitchen and Light Meal Support Assist with light kitchen support, including unpacking groceries, chopping and storing fruits and vegetables, keeping the kitchen clean and organized, and running, drying, and unloading the dishwasher. Errands and Household Support Run occasional household errands, including package returns, dry cleaning, grocery shopping, and similar tasks. The candidate may also occasionally assist with driving children on a one time basis if the family is in a bind. Pet Care Clean the cat litter box daily. Walk the dog when time permits. Thoughtful Household Support The family is looking for someone who naturally notices what needs to be done and takes initiative. This may include changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, helping with outdoor upkeep such as power washing the deck, and staying one step ahead of household needs.
