The Housekeeper role at SonderBloom encompasses housekeeping and cleaning responsibilities to ensure that we consistently meet quality standards, adhere to safety guidelines, and exceed customer service expectations. This includes tasks such as dust mopping and damp mopping floors, sanitizing bathrooms, and maintaining cleanliness in patient and common areas. In addition, our Housekeepers are responsible for promptly reporting equipment and cleaning product needs as well as any malfunctions to their supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

FUNCTION
Cleaning As a housekeeper, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including the meticulous cleaning of resident and patient rooms and bathrooms to ensure a comfortable and sanitized environment. From walls to windows, doors to ceilings, and all fixtures in between, you'll diligently work to uphold standards of cleanliness. In addition to room maintenance, you'll handle various areas throughout the facility, from offices to dining rooms, hallways to closets, leaving no space untouched. Your duties also include trash collection and disposal, executed with precision and adherence to waste management guidelines. Furthermore, you'll be responsible for deep cleaning tasks, ensuring the facility consistently meets and exceeds high-quality standards in a regulated environment. Your dedication to cleanliness and attention to detail will contribute significantly to the well- being and satisfaction of residents and staff alike.

JOB FUNCTION
Safety and Other The Housekeeper reports structural and equipment wear, defects, and malfunctions to their supervisor. They also report supply and equipment needs for replenishing. They are responsible for maintaining the equipment used in performing their duties and may relieve laundry personnel as needed. The Housekeeper must follow sanitation and safety standards, interact appropriately with residents and client staff, and respond to the paging system in a timely manner. They also follow infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/WORK EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must be punctual and able to read, write, and speak English effectively.
  • Ability to recognize hazards and follow appropriate safety measures.
  • Must maintain personal cleanliness and demonstrate pleasant and courteous behavior.
  • Ability to cooperate with other employees and perform routine tasks.
  • Must be able to work independently and complete all responsibilities without supervision.
  • Must be able to fully understand and complete all in-services and provide a criminal background check.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and some housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Ability to understand oral instructions and undergo training.
  • No certificates or licenses required but must be able to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to handle and mix chemicals safely and properly.
  • Knowledge of environmental services program requirements.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use all department equipment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to positively interact with residents, clients, and other personnel.
Computer software:
Ability to punch in and out correctly on time clock.
Machine operation:
All standard EVS equipment.
