Job Description

Overview:
As an environmental services professional at Grand Brook Memory Care, the Housekeeper is responsible for the overall sanitation regulatory community standards & services and is part of a team that strives to care for and support their residents and their families the same way they would care for their own loved ones.
Job Description:
The Housekeeper will administer all activities related to environmental service in compliance with the standards established by Grand Brook, Federal, State and Local regulatory agencies. Responsibilities include performing general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas and support areas, maintaining commercial laundry ensuring work efficiency and quality. Other tasks (not an all inclusive list) include: Cleaning, polishing, and sanitizing gathering and public spaces including lobbies, restrooms, halls, stairwells, activities rooms, dining rooms, etc. Preparing and cleaning resident rooms daily - this includes but is not limited to: ensuring all beds are made, all surfaces dusted, trash removed, carpets vacuumed, linens changed, and that bathroom sinks, tubs and toilets are cleaned. Moves, dusts, vacuums, sweeps, scrubs, waxes, polishes and maintains sanitation of furniture, rugs, carpets, upholstery and draperies. Utilizing cleaning chemicals properly and safely in accordance with community guidelines and MSDS regulations; restocking utility storage as needed. • Informs supervisor of any pertinent resident concerns and community repair requests.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma, GED, or educational equivalent. Complete 12 hours of continuing education (provided through community in services).
Experience:
Knowledge and experience with residents with Alzheimer's disease and/or related dementia preferred.
Other:
Dedication to serve seniors with passion and excellent customer service. Flexibility to perform various duties in service to the residents, clients and staff. Ability to read, write, speak and interpret English.

Ability to exert maximum muscle force necessary to lift, push, pull, move and transfer up to 100 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
