The Houseperson plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our hotel environment. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in cleaning, janitorial services, or custodial work, and who are committed to providing exceptional guest experiences through meticulous housekeeping and facility upkeep. Prior hotel experience or hospitality background is a plus, but not required. The Houseperson is essential in supporting the housekeeping department by ensuring all public areas, hallways, and service spaces are clean, organized, and inviting for guests and staff alike. Responsibilities Perform general cleaning duties in public areas including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, and restrooms to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met. Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to uphold high standards of floor care. Assist with replenishing supplies in guest rooms and public spaces as needed. Support housekeeping staff by transporting linens, supplies, and waste throughout the hotel premises. Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored after use. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly. Follow all safety procedures related to industrial cleaning and janitorial tasks to promote a safe environment for guests and staff. Uphold hospitality standards by ensuring cleanliness contributes to a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Skills Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial services, or custodial work; hotel or hospitality experience is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of floor care techniques including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning. Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment and supplies. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently. Knowledge of safety procedures related to custodial work and industrial cleaning environments. Prior experience in housekeeping management or hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory.
