Facilities Manager and/or Inpatient Clinical Manager Position Summary Hospice of South Texas is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeping Aide to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within our inpatient facility. The primary responsibility of this role is to perform housekeeping and environmental service duties to ensure all areas of the facility remain sanitary, orderly, and comfortable for patients, families, staff, and visitors. This position also assists with basic dietary support tasks such as kitchen sanitation, food service assistance, and maintaining cleanliness in dietary areas. The housekeeping and environmental services responsibilities remain the primary focus of this role. Maintaining a compassionate, respectful environment aligned with HOST's mission of Love, Comfort, and Support is essential. Key Responsibilities Environmental ServicesHousekeeping (Primary Responsibilities) Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of patient rooms, bathrooms, nursing stations, hallways, offices, and common areas. Perform floor care including vacuuming, mopping floors. Clean and disinfect furniture, fixtures, windows, mirrors, and other surfaces. Remove trash, linens, and biohazard materials using proper procedures and personal protective equipment. Restock housekeeping carts, supply rooms, and designated storage areas. Utilize appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment according to safety guidelines and facility procedures. Maintain housekeeping equipment and report maintenance needs when necessary. Ensure patient care areas are maintained in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition at all times. Follow infection control practices to protect patients, visitors, and staff. Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information. Dietary Support (Secondary Responsibilities) Assist with maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dietary service areas. Support safe food handling and storage practices. Assist with basic food preparation or meal service when needed. Ensure kitchen equipment and workspaces remain clean and organized. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services experience preferred, particularly in a healthcare setting Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Valid Texas driver's license Reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance Texas Food Handler certification preferred or ability to obtain if dietary duties are assigned Physical Requirements Prolonged standing and walking throughout the facility Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds regularly Manual dexterity and mobility required to perform cleaning and sanitation duties Work Environment This role works throughout the inpatient hospice facility and may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, infectious materials, and healthcare environments.
