The Fredericksburg Convention Center is seeking reliable, detail-oriented individuals to join our Part-Time Event Housekeeping Team. About the Fredericksburg Convention Center The Fredericksburg Convention Center is one of Virginia's premier event venues, hosting conventions, trade shows, consumer expos, weddings, banquets, corporate meetings, and social events throughout the year. With more than 120,000 square feet of flexible event space, our team plays a critical role in ensuring every guest enjoys a first-class experience. Position Overview Our Event Housekeeping Team Members help maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the facility before, during, and after events. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to excellent customer service. Successful candidates are dependable, self-motivated, and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced event environment. Essential Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness throughout the facility, including ballrooms, meeting rooms, administrative offices, lobbies, hallways, windows, floors, and restrooms Sweep, mop, vacuum, and shampoo carpets as needed Remove trash and maintain waste collection areas Restock restroom supplies and maintain restroom cleanliness Assist with event setup and cleanup as assigned Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns Work independently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation Provide courteous and professional interactions with guests, clients, vendors, and coworkers Work Environment This position requires working in crowded event environments with large groups of guests, elevated noise levels, and extended periods of standing and walking. Team members must be able to perform these essential job functions while maintaining a professional and positive attitude. Schedule & Availability We are an event-driven business, which means schedules vary based on event activity. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required No overnight shifts Some events may require early morning or late evening availability Part-time employees typically work between 0-20 hours per week based on event schedules Employees are scheduled according to the availability provided during the application process Please include your availability with your application so we can determine if the position is a good fit for your schedule. Qualifications Previous housekeeping experience preferred (1 year preferred) Excellent customer service skills Strong attention to detail Reliable transportation Knowledge of health and safety practices Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work for the duration of a shift Dependable, punctual, and professional Growth Opportunities We believe in promoting from within whenever possible.
