The Vermont Achievement Center, Inc., a 501(c) 3 charitable organization has been serving the needs of children and families throughout the Rutland region and Vermont since 1937. About the role We are seeking a dependable Housekeeper to support our Facilities team by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment. Responsibilities include daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, disinfecting surfaces, and restocking supplies, as well as weekly duties like window washing, removing cobwebs, and organizing housekeeping areas. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and takes pride in their work.

Responsibilities:

Sweep and mop all floors daily, including edges, cubby areas, and under movable items Empty trash and dispose of it in the dumpster Vacuum carpets and rugs daily; shampoo as needed Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles and railings Clean conference floors and thoroughly sanitize all bathrooms Operate floor-cleaning equipment as required Restock supplies (toilet paper, soap, sanitizer, paper towels) Empty recycling bins and clean interior windows (classrooms and hallways) weekly Clean ground-level exterior windowsdoors and remove cobwebs in common areas Candidate requirements High school diploma and at least 2 years of cleaning or housekeeping experience. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness. Ability to work independently with good organization and time management skills. Communicates professionally and maintains a safe, engaging learning environment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Candidates must successfully pass a comprehensive background check to ensure the safety and well-being of students and compliance with school and daycare standards.
