Job Purpose:
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of guest rooms, public areas, and laundry operations to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for guests and staff. This role combines room cleaning, laundry care, and upkeep of public and employee areas while delivering exceptional customer service.
DutiesResponsibilities:
Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas according to hotel standards. Replace bed linens, towels, and restock amenities in guest rooms. Sort, wash, dry, press, and fold linens and other textile items; remove stains using proper procedures. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and laundry detergents; report low stock and order as needed. Perform quality checks on cleanliness in rooms and public areas; document inspection outcomes. Report maintenance issues and technical problems promptly. Keep hallways and employee areas clean and unobstructed. Track laundry items and ensure proper handling of guest belongings. Respond to guest inquiries and provide excellent customer service. Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines; recommend process improvements when necessary. Other duties as assigned by management. SkillsQualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in housekeeping or laundry operations preferred. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, detergents, and laundering equipment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Good communication and problem-solving skills; customer service oriented. Spanish speaking is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions:
The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to noise: There may be sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. The worker may be subject to minor vibration. The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions: For example, the following conditions that may affect the respiratory system of the skin: Odors, dusts. The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and exposure to chemicals.
Physical Requirements:
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Stooping:
Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles
Kneeling:
Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
Crouching:
Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
Reaching:
Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Standing:
Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time
Walking:
Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another
Pushing:
Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
Pulling:
Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
Lifting:
Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles
Talking:
Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly
Hearing:
Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
Repetitive motions:
