POSITION SUMMARY
The Housekeeper helps create a joyful and vibrant community by maintaining a beautiful environment, keeping the community tidy, clean, sanitary, and pleasing to the senses.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Supports dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for residents. Performs the day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned. Must have high standards of cleanliness. Ensures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner. Follows established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies. Follows established Infection Control practices when performing housekeeping procedures. Must be capable of operating and maintaining all housekeeping/laundry equipment (i.e., commercial washer/dryer, buffing machines, etc.). Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations. Attends and participates in required meetings and trainings. Stays current on system assigned tasks and duties. Performs other tasks/duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS A
high school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Pass a criminal background and fingerprint check. Has compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the requirements of the position. Ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees. Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations. Ability to work independently (with minimum supervision) Maintains current food handler's card.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; lifting 25-40 pounds constantly. Reaching below shoulder height frequently. Kneel; stoop and squat are required occasionally. Stand six out of eight hours.

  • Actual pay rate will be calculated based on relevant years of experience and education/certification requirements.

Floating Holiday:
0.04 hours accrued for every hour worked, up to 56 hours annually to be taken on the days most important to you, eligible upon hire Time worked on the following holidays is paid at 1.5 times your normal hourly pay: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Up to 3 days Bereavement Leave Employer Paid Life Insurance Traditional and Roth 401(k) after 12 months and 1000 hours worked, semi-annual enrollment, with annual employer discretionary contribution Employee Assistance Program Cascadia Assistance Fund to provide financial help with hardships or continuing education
