Chocolate Production Manager Lonohana Estate Chocolate Honolulu, HI Job Details Full-time $24 - $30 an hour Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Employee discount Qualifications Food production Teamwork Operations management Attention to detail Time management Full Job Description Lonohana Estate Chocolate is a tree-to-bar Hawaii chocolate maker, and we are looking for a new full-time production manager for our chocolate factory in Kakaako. We are looking for a professional, self-motivated team player. The ideal candidate will have the desire to work with chocolate on many levels, from manufacturing to pastry and confectionery. You might come from another industry, but if you have a high level of professionalism and a deep interest in chocolate, we would like to meet you. Please note that some weekend day availability is a MUST for this position. Respond to this posting ONLY if you have some background in chocolate, confectionery or culinary programs. This role will be based in our factory space on Queen Street in Kakaako. SUMMARY Responsible for assisting in the factory with all aspects of our chocolate manufacturing and packaging. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day production, driving new product development, and cultivating a high-performing team culture. This job requires strong leadership and technical expertise with a commitment to quality, efficiency, and innovation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Operations & Leadership Manage all aspects of chocolate production, including scheduling, inventory, and staffing. Ensure all products consistently meet brand standards, customer expectations, and market trends. Lead, mentor, and train production team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence. Actively participate in daily production activities and fill in as needed, including: Molding and wrapping chocolate bars and other confections. Preparing chocolate drinks and non-bar products(rubs, nibs, etc). Monitor and optimize production processes to reduce ingredient waste and improve operational efficiency. Ensure production targets (volume, quality, timelines) are met consistently. Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal teams including Sales & Marketing, Fulfillment, and Executive Leadership. Process Improvement & Quality Assurance Identify and implement improvements in production workflows to enhance consistency, reduce yield loss, and drive productivity. Oversee compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards in all production areas. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of chocolate-making equipment. Maintain an organized and clean production space, including: Routine cleaning of equipment, molds, and surfaces. Sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing. Collaborate with the fulfillment team to ensure accurate inventory tracking and production planning. Product Development Lead research and development of new products, from concept to launch. Improve and iterate on existing recipes to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Stay current on industry trends, ingredients, and techniques to inform product innovation.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS

Previous experience in food production, baking or chocolate-making preferred, but not required. Must be available to work a varied and flexible scheduleINCLUDING
weekends. Food handler's certificate or equivalentPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
