Responsibilities Prepare and fillet fish and seafood items using proper knife skills and meat cutting techniques to ensure quality and presentation. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all food handling and storage areas, adhering strictly to food safety regulations. Package seafood products efficiently for sale or distribution, ensuring freshness and proper labeling. Assist customers by providing knowledgeable advice on seafood selections, cooking tips, and portion sizes to enhance their shopping experience. Monitor inventory levels of seafood products, restocking displays promptly to keep the sales area appealing and well-stocked. Follow all food industry safety protocols during food production, preparation, and packaging processes. Collaborate with kitchen staff or restaurant teams when necessary to support food preparation or catering needs. Requirements Proven experience in food handling, food preparation, or kitchen environments within the food industry or restaurant settings. Strong knife skills with experience in meat cutting or fish filleting preferred. Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation procedures essential for maintaining hygiene. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and engage positively with shoppers. Ability to stand for extended periods while performing physical tasks such as lifting heavy seafood boxes or equipment. Prior experience in culinary roles or food production is highly desirable.
