General Utility Worker

Job Title:

General Utility Worker $18/HR 7AM-3:30PM Job Description The General Utility Worker is an entry-level position within the production area, involving a variety of duties associated with general labor. Employees are expected to contribute to production operations by adhering to policies and procedures related to meat processing, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations. Responsibilities Maintain all production areas in clean and sanitary conditions. Communicate any issues leading to unsanitary conditions promptly. Remove product and packing materials from the floor. Properly dispose of and track inedible products. Separate and remove trash and recycling from production areas. Stage production area with empty containers for the following shift. Assist with preparing and disassembling equipment for meat-processing or sanitation. Essential Skills Dependability and detail orientation. Ability to follow directions and work under minimal supervision. Willingness to work weekends and overtime as needed. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment safely. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in food manufacturing or general production is beneficial. Candidates with backgrounds in Kraft, Tyson, Hill & Valley would do well. Work Environment The job operates in a manufacturing environment, exposing employees to moving mechanical parts and high places. The temperature may vary from colder (30 degrees) to warmer areas, with a typically high noise level. Physical demands include constant standing or walking, lifting or carrying a minimum of 50 lbs, and using both hands as necessary. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davenport, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
