First Shift,Second Shift,Rotating,Weekend,Mon,Tue,Wed,Thu,Fri,Sat,Sun The Seasonal Oyster Shucker/Barback is responsible for ensuring the Oyster bar is prepared based on established procedures. Reading and following established recipes and plating requirements as set by the executive chef. The Oyster Shucker provides fast, accurate shucking of Oysters. Interaction with guests and a positive attitude will be a large part of your responsibility. Assisting the bar staff with duties is also required. Must be able to work day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. This is a seasonal full-time position. Essential Functions Shucks fresh oysters or clams with shucking knife Cleans & prepares shellfish and other seafood for serving to customers. May mix ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, and also other ingredients to make sauces Ensure oyster bar is properly prepared based on established procedures Provide assistance bar staff with filling ice, stocking, emptying trash, etc.. Follow established recipes and plating requirements Provide fast, accurate shucking of oysters Restock all items through each shift Set up, clean and prepare bar area for the start of business. Stock garnishes, ice, mixers and glassware, replenishing as necessary. Prepare garnishes for drinks, replenishing snacks, while clearing tableware for bar patrons. Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support the bartender for drink preparation. Clear and reset tables in the bar area as necessary. Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar, including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage area. Restock and replenish bar inventory as directed by the Bartender or Bar Manager. Practice cleanliness and safety in all bar areas, liquor and wine storage areas. Transport all dirty tableware from bar area to dishwashing area for proper cleaning. Participate in daily staff meetings and department training meetings. Assist team members as needed to promote a teamwork environment.

Experience and Skills:

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand for 8' hours length of time. Ability to walk/stand approximately 90% of shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuous basis. Ability to upsell menu items. Requires a thorough knowledge of food & beverage service. Familiarity with industry relevant Point of Sales systems. Requires good communication; both verbal and written. Ability to communicate effectively in the English Language. A second language is desirable. Ability to practice and adhere to all safety requirements. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights and weekends. The base wage of $18 plus tips is calculated upon historical averages and seasonality with total compensation typically ranging between $18-$19/hr

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Work will primarily take place in the Restaurant, front of house and back of house areas, and Food & Beverage service areas. Interior and Exterior of the Restaurant, exposure to sun, heat, cold and changing weather conditions.
