Job Description

Cov Wayzata is looking to welcome an experienced, professional, and passionate Sushi Expert to our growing team. This role is essential to our restaurant, highlighting our excellent sourcing of seafood by preparing various sushi styles in a dynamic, fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, prepare, plate, and serve high-quality sushi, sashimi, and nigiri, ensuring strict food safety compliance, precise fish breakdown, and efficient inventory management. This role will require at least 5 days of availability, working an average of 40 hours per work week in the summertime, and will be an hourly paying position.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and fish quality - minimum of 3 years' experience required . Advanced proficiency in using specialized knives for precise cuts. Ability to stand for 8-10 hours in a high-volume environment. Valid food handler's license is encouraged. Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and artistic presentation. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Filleting whole fish, preparing rice, creating, rolling, and slicing sushi styles. Ensuring consistent taste, texture, and presentation of dishes. Maintaining strict Health Department sanitation standards and ensuring proper, safe, and clean storage of raw fish and seafood. Organizing the workstation, caring for specialized knives, and managing inventory levels. Working closely with other team members to collaborate on menu crafting, preparation of supplies, and paring for kitchen necessities.
Job Type:
Full-time/Part-time Starting wage is $22/hour pending measurable skills and ability. Working at least 5 days a week with 40 hours on average during the summer. Weekend availability required.
