Job Description

Responsibilities and Tasks Must be able to perform all assigned requirements at line speed up to 175 birds per minute. Recognize and identify disease in poultry. Inspect birds for pathological issues and contaminations to ensure compliance with Federal guidelines. Adheres to all safety requirements including PPE, preventing, and Process Safety Management related matters. Ensures that the qualities of the products are being met according to the product specification of QA and USDA. Maintains a clean and safe working environment. All other duties as assigned. Requirements Previous Sorter's experience is preferred but not required. Experience in poultry processing is required. High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred. Familiar with GMP's and poultry processing procedures. Must be able to speak and write English. Ability to work within timelines. Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written.
Safety and security:
actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures; uses equipment and materials properly. Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as with others. Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and occasionally holidays. Physical Requirements Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions, if applicable. Ability to read and understand written instructions. Ability to perform repetitive tasks. Ability to lift 20 lbs. Ability to use knives and scissors. Excellent visual capabilities to include depth and color perception.
When in a plant environment:
Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperature of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with ambient and 100% humidity. May handle products 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 to 100db. May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food processing facilities. You must wear and use protective safety equipment required for the job tasks as directed by Case Farms. Occasionally exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10 ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm. Ability to stand for the duration of the shift. Case Farms is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
