Job Description The Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at Tennessee State University invites applications for a 12-month tenure-track position as Assistant/Associate Professor of Poultry Production and Management. The incumbent will be a member of an outstanding faculty in Agricultural Sciences that is actively engaged in scholarly activities of teaching, research and extension. The position will have outreach and applied research responsibilities with teaching assignments as needed. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: (1) Developing a research program focused on poultry production and management, (2) Writing grants and/or collaborating with faculty members to secure extramural funding, (3) Mentoring undergraduates and advising graduate students, (4) Providing dissemination of results through the Cooperative Extension Program, and (5) Assisting in other tasks as assigned by the department. Minimum Qualifications Candidates should be in possession of a Ph.D. in the Poultry Sciences. The successful candidate must be well trained and experienced in poultry production practices on a research scale to involve production and management, data collection and data analysis. Experience in extension and bird health in small flocks is preferred. Potential for establishing strong record of extramural grant awards, publication in refereed journals, and teaching is required. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills are essential.
