Summary Grades, sorts, classifies, receives, stores, distributes agricultural food products by type, size, weight, condition within facility by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Conveys product and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas. Marks product with identifying information. Records product or items received and/or distributed. Weighs and/or counts items for distribution within or outside of facilities to ensure conformance to company standards. Keeps work area clean and orderly. Operates equipment to load or unload product. Starts or stops equipment. Dislodges jams by hand or appropriate equipment. Opens bins or chutes to move product from one location to another. Maintains production/processing records. Reads production/processing schedule, customer order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved or distributed. Fills requisitions or requests for product and distributes to appropriate location. Opens or seals crates and other containers. Loads or packs produce in appropriate containers for storage or shipment. Collects crop samples. Starts and runs mill for specified time depending on size of load, variety, etc. Regulates inflow of product and observes outflow. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to understand and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills Ability to perform basic mathematical processes, including simple addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, discounts, interest, volume. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills None required. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Forklift certified or ability to do so is beneficial but not required. Other Skills and Abilities Ability to be flexible with schedule, including different shifts, evenings, weekends. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold, and dusty conditions.
