Job Description

Bus Assistant Overview:

Reports To:
Director of Business and Facilities Operations Responsibilities:
Assist students safely boarding and exiting the school bus Monitor student behavior and maintain order during transportation Help younger students and students with special needs as needed Ensure students are seated safely and following bus safety rules Assist with securing seat belts, harnesses, or wheelchairs when required Communicate respectfully with students, parents, school staff, and drivers Support emergency evacuation procedures when necessary Report student behavior concerns or safety issues to supervisors Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred Experience working with children preferred Ability to remain calm, patient, and attentive Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow safety procedures and district policies Must pass background check and required screenings
Preferred Qualifications:
