Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a difference each day by helping students arrive at school safely and supported as a Bus Aide for the remainder of the 25/26 school year. With 13 openings available in various locations including Philadelphia and several surrounding areas, this contract opportunity offers a rewarding role with a high likelihood of renewal and potential to extend into the next academic year. You'll typically work three hours a day (90 minutes in the early morning and 90 minutes in the afternoon), providing consistency and work-life balance. Most shifts fall between 6:30-8:30 am and 2:30-4:30 pm, adding up to 15 hours a week.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant Background working with children, especially those with special needs Verbal de-escalation skills to ensure a calm and safe environment Previous experience riding with students on a school bus is highly desired Strong communication and interpersonal skills Reliability and commitment through the end of the school year
What You'll Do:
Accompany drivers during the daily transport of students between home and school Supervise and support assigned students, either 1:1 or 2:1, during rides Implement effective communication and de-escalation techniques as needed Ensure students' safety and well-being throughout their commute Build trusted relationships with students, drivers, and school staff Take pride in positively impacting students' lives through safe, caring support.
