Bus Aide

Exempt Summary of the position: To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the school corporation's total educational programs.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Eighteen (18) years of age. Completion of school district training. Satisfactory criminal background check.

Supervises:

None Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists in maintaining order and discipline. Assist in transportation of students safely on their route to and from school. Assist in loading and unloading handicapped children. Exhibit respect and active concern for all students in his or her charge. Be a good example for students in speech and appearance. Promote good public relations for the School Corporation and community.

Special Considerations:

Riding in all weather conditions, seated in a school bus of various makes or models. May be exposed to inclement weather conditions and hazardous traffic and/or driving conditions. Exposure to noise levels ranging from moderate to very loud. High level of contact with students and interaction with District personnel.
