MIDWEST EDUCATIONAL TRANSPORTATION SERVICES
(METS) has been a trusted partner for schools for over 17 years, providing innovative transportation solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. Our dedicated team of professionals is committed to ensuring safe and efficient pupil transportation. Summary We are seeking a Bus Aide to join our team at METS. In this role, you will assist in the safe transportation of students, ensuring their well-being and comfort during transit. Your contributions will be vital in supporting our mission to provide exceptional service to schools and families. Responsibilities Assist the bus driver in ensuring the safety of all students during transit. Monitor student behavior and manage conflicts effectively. Provide support to students with special needs or those requiring additional assistance. Help students board and exit the bus safely and efficiently. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding any issues or concerns. Administer first aid when necessary and maintain a safe environment on the bus. Requirements Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred. Strong conflict management skills and ability to handle challenging situations calmly. Knowledge of special education practices is a plus. First aid certification is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to interact with students, parents, and staff effectively.
