College Preparatory and STEM Academy Overview:
SR1 is an award-winning non-profit located in Ridgeland, MS, with over 10 years of experience in providing high-quality college preparatory services to K-12 students in Central Mississippi. SR1 has been authorized to open SR1 College Preparatory and STEM Academy (SR1 CPSA), the first public, free charter school focused on College Preparatory STEM education.
Position Overview:
Are you a highly responsible individual that desires to work for an organization that values you as a person? Look no further than SR1 College Preparatory and STEM Academy (SR1 CPSA). SR1 is seeking highly professional and responsible bus monitors. The monitors will monitor college potential students to and from community learning sites including K-12 schools, college and universities, and museums within designated route(s) while also ensuring the safety of passengers while in the vehicles. Monitors in this classification will be part of a small team of two-four monitors that will receive general supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures. This job class is responsible for the safety of student passengers while meeting established schedules. Hourly salary depending on history and experience. Job Requirements Be available 5 AM-8AM and/or 1:30 PM-4:30 PM Monitor students on educational transportation vehicles within a prescribe route(s) in accordance with time schedules; picking up and discharging passengers at designated stops. Monitor passengers on field trips to various locations Maintains order and proper discipline of student passengers according to SR1 policy Conducts a thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspection of the vehicle. Help passenger with improving social skills and be respectful. Assist with performs periodical safety drills completing necessary reports upon request Assist with maintaining cleanliness of vehicle to ensure safe operating condition Complete passenger counts Attends various meetings regarding safety, first aid and training updates as required Attend meetings as required Performs related duties as required Employment standards Ability to commute to work Ability to read and write at a level necessary to successfully perform the required duties Ability to understand and carry out both oral and written instructions in an independent manner Ability to establish and maintain proper student conduct on school vehicle Ability to exercise good judgment and decision making Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform required duties Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationship with those contacted in the performance of required duties (i.e. students, parents/guardians)
