POSITION:

Bus Aid - Part-Time

JOB FUNCTION

To ensure the safety of students from residential neighborhoods to school buildings.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent Must be 18 years of age or older Must be able to pass background check and fingerprint process through Dept. of Education Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 50lbs Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in English - which is necessary in emergencies or situations where employees need to relay pertinent information or keep themselves safe. Available for 2 hours per day

REPORTS TO

Director of Transportation

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the bus driver when requested or as needed Assist students requiring help loading or unloading the bus Monitor the student's wellbeing and behavior during the route Respond appropriately to students' needs during the route and notify the driver of emergencies or issues Be familiar with the daily routes to assist a substitute or new driver Secure special needs students and equipment with restraints, tie downs, wheelchairs, seatbelts, car seats, etc. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Transportation and/or Lead Person/COO and Chief Financial Officer/SBA.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Ten-month contracted position

EVALUATION

According to state statute and rule and board policy.
