  • Full-time Position Summary The Transportation Aide supports the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school and school-related activities.
Working alongside the school bus driver, the Transportation Aide helps maintain student safety, provides supervision during transit, assists students with boarding and exiting the vehicle, and promotes a positive transportation experience for all students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist students safely boarding and exiting school buses or other school vehicles. Monitor student behavior and maintain a safe, orderly environment during transportation. Support students with special needs, including providing physical assistance when appropriate and authorized. Ensure students remain seated and follow transportation safety procedures. Conduct student headcounts and verify student attendance during routes. Assist in emergency evacuations and safety drills as directed. Communicate concerns regarding student behavior, safety, or health to the Transportation Coordinator and school administration. Help maintain cleanliness and organization of school vehicles. Accompany students on field trips and extracurricular transportation as needed. Follow all school policies, transportation regulations, and safety protocols. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience working with children preferred. Experience supporting students with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable. Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in emergency situations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with drivers, school staff, students, and families. Must successfully pass all required background checks and employment screenings. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist students during boarding and exiting. Ability to lift, transfer, or assist students when required and appropriately trained. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

From $22.00 per hour
