Our Transportation Department is searching for Bus Attendants. Essential Job Duties for
Bus Attendants:
Maintains reasonable order during bus operation to ensure safety of all individuals. Maintains safety precautions when individuals are boarding and departing the bus. Assists individuals in an evacuation or other bus emergency. In conjunction with the Bus Driver, makes sure no individual is left on the bus. Knowledge of the bus route should help be needed by the Bus Driver. Maintains the cleanliness of the inside of the bus. Ensures all bags and equipment are placed in the proper storage. Able to be trained in the use of the lift and tie-down systems for individuals using wheelchairs. Exercises sound, effective, and appropriate intervention methods to control inappropriate behavior by individuals during bus operation and reports incidents to appropriate supervisor. Promotes atmosphere of good conduct on the bus by implementing Agency rules for bus riders. Participates in all in-service training programs developed by the transportation department Establishes and maintains good rapport with individuals on the bus, co-workers, parents, and staff.
