• Assist the bus driver in the safe loading and unloading of students at designated stops
• Monitor student behavior on the bus to ensure compliance with safety regulations and district policies
• Provide support to students with special needs, including those requiring assistance with mobility or other accommodations
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation-related concerns
• Conduct safety checks of the bus and report any maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel
• Implement emergency procedures as needed to ensure the safety of all passengers
• Maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere on the bus, promoting a culture of kindness and cooperation among students
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required by the school district
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the transportation supervisor or school administration.

Requirements

• Must hold a State Board of Education Educational Aide Permit or have the ability to obtain one
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience working with children, particularly in an educational or transportation setting, is desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff
• Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations and respond appropriately to emergencies
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to school transportation
• Must pass a background check and any required drug screenings
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work
• Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons, as required by the school schedule.
