Homeownership Stewardship Director Housing Land Trust of the North Bay (HLT) Petaluma, CA (Hybrid) Join Us in Expanding Affordable Homeownership Housing Land Trust of the North Bay (HLT) is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Stewardship Director to help expand access to affordable homeownership across Sonoma and Napa Counties. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a growing nonprofit dedicated to creating permanently affordable housing through the community land trust model. You'll work closely with a small, collaborative team to support homeowners, lead community outreach, and help bring new housing opportunities to life. About the Role The Stewardship Director leads a diverse portfolio of work spanning homeowner support, community engagement, project marketing, and housing development coordination. This role is ideal for someone who is both strategic and hands-on, and who thrives in a collaborative, community-focused environment. What You'll Do Support and Empower Homeowners Build strong relationships with homeowners and provide ongoing support Coordinate homebuyer education and program compliance Assist with home resales and buyer transitions Lead Community Outreach & Education Represent HLT in the community and build partnerships with local stakeholders Plan and lead outreach events and educational forums Help grow awareness of affordable homeownership opportunities Drive Marketing & Home Sales Coordinate marketing campaigns for new homeownership opportunities Guide applicants through the homebuying process from application to closing Ensure a smooth and supportive experience for prospective buyers Advance Housing Development Efforts Support a pipeline of affordable housing projects Collaborate with cities, developers, and community partners Help bring new projects from concept to completion Contribute to Organizational Growth Partner with the Executive Director and team on strategic initiatives Co-supervise office operations Contribute to fundraising and program development efforts
What We're Looking For Required:
Bachelor's degree 3+ years of professional experience Strong communication and organizational skills Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Preferred:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) Experience in nonprofit, housing, or government sectors Background in marketing, outreach, or community engagement
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
$75,000 - $90,000 (DOE) Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision SEP retirement plan with employer contributions Paid time off and holidays Hybrid schedule after initial training Work Environment Based in Petaluma, CA with local travel across Sonoma and Napa Counties Combination of office work, remote work, and site visits Collaborative, small-team setting with opportunities for growth and leadership About HLT HLT is a private, non-profit corporation established in February 2002 and serves Sonoma and Napa counties.
